The city council voted February 15th to restart the utility expansion project in areas: SW 6 & 7, North 1 & 2. It will likely be at least 2013 before a shovel even hits dirt and the project can take up to two years to finish. Council has not determined whether water and sewer or just water will be connected once it comes through each area.
In an effort to keep costs down, the design-bid-build method will be used. Bidding will be open sometime this year. As of today there is no set dollar amount for the utility assessments. The only advice I can offer if you do own property in any of the areas mentioned above is to keep a close eye on Council meetings and attend whenever possible.
